Official GRE Quant and Verbal Practice Questions

GRE Official Practice Questions ReviewEducational Testing Service (ETS), the authors of the GRE revised General Test, have released the first editions of two extremely helpful new GRE review books. Both include a plethora of authentic GRE practice questions.

The first guide, Official GRE Verbal Reasoning Practice Questions, features 150 real – i.e. previously used and therefore authentic – GRE Verbal Reasoning questions. Test-takers can navigate the questions by type and difficulty level or use mixed practice sets.  The practice questions come complete with answers and explanations.

Moreover, this guide also contains information, advice, and introductory overviews on both the GRE’s Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Writing sections. For the Writing section, the most important features are sample writing tasks and sample essay responses with scores. There are even a few strategies on how to tackle Verbal Reasoning that ETS has not published previously.

The second guide, Official GRE Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions, is similarly structured. Also created and published by ETS, this prep book offers test-takers 150 authentic GRE Quantitative Reasoning practice questions along with detailed explanations and substantive coverage of GRE math topics.

This book first covers Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Data Analysis (75 practice questions). The second part and the remaining questions are arranged in three practice sets. Finally, the book is rounded off by facts and information as well as tips and tricks for mastering the Quant section, all compiled by ETS experts.

While these books’ explanations are not as clear as they could be, and although there is no in-depth coverage of strategy (the Manhattan Prep GRE Guides are a better option in this regard), this all doesn’t matter. What counts is that test-takers get real GRE test questions straight from the official source – it doesn’t get better than that. It’s quite clear that these study aids are certain to add points to your score.

In short, the Official GRE Verbal Reasoning Practice Questions and the Official GRE Quantitative Reasoning Practice Questions are simply a must buy!
